I was born and raised in fascinating Mexico City. I moved to Los Angeles 10 years ago, and this city hasn't stop surprising me. L.A.'s multiculturalism is extraordinary, and its essence enchanting. Living in Los Angeles for me represents not only the opportunity  to work in the largest media market in the United States, but most importantly  to live in the city that leads on social, political, and pop culture trends, followed by the rest of the country , and possibly around the globe.

Here, in "the City of Angels" I have been very fortunate to find a Latino community so vibrant and empowered on leading that change. Hispanics here represent almost half of the entire population. Therefore, having the responsibility of informing this community with my job is as much as privilege as an everyday challenge.

This profession has allowed me to connect with the interests, struggles and everyday issues faced by this community. I feel blessed of having  a relationship with it of trust and loyalty.  In the last seven years, this community has allowed me to hear, feel and understand their experiences and provided me the chance to  give them a voice and to put their stories in words to make them part of this's society reality.

My mission as a Hispanic journalist in Los Angeles is to continue building that loyalty and trust from those who see my stories not only as news reporting, but as their own their footprint in this country's history.

 

 

 

Nací y crecí en la metrópolis más fascinante del mundo, la Ciudad de México.  Hace 10 años, la vida me trajo a otra metrópolis que no deja de sorprenderme. Su multiculturalidad es extraordinaria y su esencia cautivadora. Los Ángeles para mí no solo representa el mercado de medios más importante en Los Estados Unidos, sino el sentirse afortunado de vivir en  un lugar que impulsa los cambios y las tendencias políticas, sociales, del medio ambiente,  culturales y de entretenimiento más significativos, no solo en EE.UU, sino posiblemente en el mundo.

Aquí, en L.A., he tenido  la fortuna de encontrarme con una comunidad latina, vibrante y poseedora de dicho cambio.

Los hispanos aquí, componen casi el 50% de la población, y tener la responsabilidad de informar a esta comunidad, a través de mi profesión, es un reto y un privilegio.

Este trabajo me ha permitido  poder conectarme con las inquietudes, problemas y vivencias diarias de esta comunidad. Me siento afortunada de haber logrado la confianza y la lealtad de las personas que me permiten escuchar, sentir y entender sus  experiencias.  En los últimos siete años, he podido poner voz y palabras a sus vivencias, como parte de la historia de Los Ángeles. Mi misión, como periodista latina es continuar construyendo en la lealtad de quienes ven en mis reportajes, más que un relato de noticias,  su legado en la historia de este país.
